For Fun
Films have been something that have made me the person I am today. Since the age of 16 to now 22, they have provided me with a sense of comfort that not many other things can bring.
To have some fun, I have recreated some posters from films that either struck me emotionally and made me question everything or that I just simply adore.
Lost in translation is my favourite film and altered my brain chemistry, the music, cinematography and plot ushered me into the world of film and Sofia Coppola.
To recreate the poster, I searched the internet for a photo that reflected the beautiful nature of the film and created a typeface that although is simple, embodies that feeling of trying to connect to something in a world where you feel lost.
Lost In Translation
Aftersun
Aftersun is a film that will leave you with that heavy feeling in your chest and may even make you reminisce on your childhood and parenthood.
A film about loss and love, I wanted to create a poster that depicts that exact feeling. Holding onto something or someone, especially after grief. The red is raw and intense and the typeface is bold, revealing strong emotions without being too fierce.
The Worst Person In The World
I watched this film for the first time in 2022 on a plane flying to Singapore. I did not expect to then watch it a further 4 times in the span of those 3 weeks I was away.
A Norwegian film that follows Julie, a woman in her late 20’s figuring out who she is as a person, whilst navigating relationships and finding a career path. When I saw this I thought to myself, finally! A film I can completely relate to.
A simple poster with a beautiful typeface, not revealing too much about what is to come in the film.
